May Recap and June Plans

May Recap – Growth, Grace & Grit

This month wasn’t flashy.
It was steady. Grounded. Perseverant.

And honestly? That’s the kind of growth I needed.

Because being a business owner—especially while being a mom, a student, and a human navigating real life—requires more than just hustle. It takes heart. It takes intention. And it definitely takes grit.

👩‍💻 Business Wins This Month

This was a foundational month. Not just working in my business—but working on it.

Here’s what moved forward:
✅ Sold term life insurance policies to young families I care deeply about (and they are SO affordable, like $13/mo)
✅ Updated my website to better explain disability insurance—who it’s for, how it works, and why it matters
✅ Started my P&C license studies and logged 20+ hours
✅ Officially announced my expansion into Property & Casualty insurance (and the response was incredible!)
✅ Started learning the ins and outs of homeowners, personal auto, and commercial property insurance

This P&C expansion is one of the biggest steps I’ve taken so far. It means I can serve my clients more fully—protecting more than just life and income—and that lights me up.

🛠 Improvements That Will Help Long-Term

This month wasn’t just about policies—it was about systems and clarity.

🔹 Reorganized my website’s disability section for better trust and understanding
🔹 Streamlined back-end processes to save time and reduce stress
🔹 Spent time learning what makes certain insurance products better—and how to communicate that clearly

I’m building a business that lasts, not one that just looks good.

💬 Feedback That Meant Everything

This month, I received messages and encouragement that reminded me:

You’re doing what you’re meant to do.
People trust you.
You’re building something that matters.

Clients were excited about my P&C growth.
Friends and family shared they feel safe bringing their coverage needs to me.
And I felt a renewed sense of clarity in my mission.

🙃 The Entrepreneur-Mom Whirlwind

Some days were productive.
Some days were messy.
But I kept showing up.

What helped:

  • Letting go of perfection and choosing progress

  • Sitting next to my daughter while she did “her work” for her “company” 💕

  • Attending church and hearing a sermon about Sabbath—that helped me pause when I needed rest more than hustle

  • Being surrounded by women who filled my cup when I felt low

I’m learning to give myself grace, especially on the hard mornings when everyone needs something from me before I’ve had coffee or quiet.

📖 Lessons I’m Taking With Me

  • Slow growth is still growth

  • Insurance is about people and understanding

  • Clients value clarity, compassion, and someone who actually listens

  • P&C is the next chapter, and I’m leaning in with purpose

  • Perseverance looks like simply showing up—especially when it’s hard

💭 If I Could Talk to Myself a Year Ago…

I’d say:

“You should’ve started this earlier—but I’m proud of you for doing it now.”

May wasn’t about flashy wins.
It was about alignment.
And my business is starting to feel like the one I always dreamed of building.

📅 Looking Ahead to June

June is for planting more seeds—and starting to bloom.

My focus this month:
🌱 Finish studying and pass my P&C license exam
📣 Start sharing educational content about homeowners, auto, and business insurance
🧩 Continue helping clients protect their income with the right disability coverage
⚙️ Tighten up systems that save me time so I can serve better and rest more

I’m not chasing busy. I’m building with intention.
And I can’t wait to see what this next month brings.

If you’re also building, growing, or navigating a season of slow-but-steady progress—just know:
You’re doing better than you think.
Keep going. With grace and grit.
